Buxus sempervirens
Similar to Ilex crenata Thunb.
Buxus sempervirens, Common Boxwood, and Littleleaf Boxwood, Buxus microphylla, may be easily confused with Japanese Holly. The leaves on both boxwood species have entire (smooth) margins, no teeth, whereas Japanese Holly is toothed. Both boxwood species also have angled stems, Littleleaf more so than Common Boxwood.
